An opinion article for my storytelling community Adventures in Storytelling; diversity is important to me, but being a white, middle-class, cis-gender, heterosexual man I often struggle with how much is appropriate for me to engage with areas with which I don't identify—this is an exploration into that idea.
A reflection article series I wrote for RyersonStudentAffairs.com; after being talked into participating in Movember on the RyersonSA team, I pitched a series that would follow my journey through the month as I shaved off my beloved beard, focusing on what this meant to my identity and how I saw that extrapolating into our work with students.
An editorial piece written for MacMedia, McLaughlin College of York University's monthly student-run paper; the last editorial I ever wrote for them, in fact—this was the year I graduated and this was my heartfelt, cheesy farewell to the paper, my colleagues & friends, and, in a way, McLaughlin College.
